Job Overview

Our Client is seeking a proficient Assembly Superintendent to oversee and manage assembly operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and industry experience to ensure the smooth execution of assembly processes in adherence to top classification society standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise assembly activities to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
  • Act as a mentor to trainees, providing guidance and support in their development as subject matter experts. Document trainee progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their growth.
  • Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify assembly processes and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage your experience working at prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that assembly activities comply with top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless coordination and execution of assembly activities.
  • Effectively allocate resources including manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize assembly processes and meet project timelines.
  • Champion a safety-first culture by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and risk mitigation measures across assembly operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in shipbuilding or related disciplines being advantageous. 
  • Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
  • Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify assembly processes and personnel.
  • Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, bringing along best practices and behaviors to enhance assembly operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
