Job Overview:

We are in search of an experienced Blasting & Painting Supervisor to oversee and manage all activities related to blasting and painting operations within the shipbuilding organization. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all blasting and painting processes meet the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilites

  • Direct and oversee all blasting and painting activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify blasting and painting processes and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage your experience working at prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices in blasting and painting operations. Share knowledge and insights to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure that all blasting and painting activities adhere to top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc. Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless coordination and execution of blasting and painting activities.
  • Effectively manage resources including manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize blasting and painting processes and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in blasting and painting techniques being advantageous.
  • Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
  • Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify blasting and painting processes and personnel.
  • Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, with significant experience in blasting and painting operations. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to lead and motivate teams toward achieving common goals. Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
