Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Program Management Prevention Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing prevention initiatives and implementing strategies to mitigate risks across our shipbuilding projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement prevention strategies to identify and mitigate risks across shipbuilding projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate prevention measures into project plans and processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities. Develop risk management plans and coordinate preventive actions to minimize project disruptions and safety incidents.
  • Act as a mentor to trainees, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to foster their development as prevention specialists. Document trainee progress and provide feedback to facilitate their growth as subject matter experts.
  • Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify prevention processes and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage your experience from prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices in prevention initiatives. Share knowledge and insights to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc. Monitor project activities and documentation to demonstrate adherence to industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with project management teams, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate prevention measures into project planning, execution, and evaluation phases. Foster a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of prevention activities, risk assessments, and mitigation efforts. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior management and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in prevention management being advantageous.
  • Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
  • Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify prevention processes and personnel.
  • Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, with significant experience in prevention management roles. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to lead and motivate teams toward achieving common prevention goals. Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
