RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Estimates for package components including pressure vessels, piping including associated instrumentation and controls, structural steel, and assembly estimates.
  • Review customer specifications and applicable codes.
  • Determination of materials needed and special requirements.
  • Liaise and obtain quotes for material and sub-vendor requirements in terms of pricing and delivery.
  • Determination of and including in the estimates necessary NDE and associated costs.
  • Including in the estimate all aspects of costing required in the design basis specified by the applications engineer.
  • Prepare and compile the entire proposal that will be presented to the customer.
  • Work closely with GM, Business Development, and sales for proposal guidance.
  • Address and coordinate with the GM and Director, Sales and Applications vendor data requirements and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Complete bid pre-qualifications as assigned.
  • Monitor the performance of and continually improve and update estimating tools.
  • Actively participate in the development of new estimating tools and procedures.
  • Update pricing in spreadsheets regularly used as an estimating tool.
  • Assist with monitoring shop and office performance to verify estimate basis.
  • Coordinate, complete and oversee, as applicable project engineering activities.
  • Managing projects to meet client specifications, deadlines, and budget.
  • Act as a client liaison.
  • Ensure project equipment deliverables operate as designed.
  • Requisition of major equipment (specification of buyout equipment, issuing of RFQs, quote comparison, vendor
  • selection).
  • Review client specifications; note and confirm exceptions and integrate into the project (design group, fabrication shop, instrumentation & valving, controls, and electrical.
  • Coordination of drawings and purchasing long lead materials to ensure work gets to shop in time.
  • Review, approve, and sign off of drawings to ensure proper design and minimize conflicts.
  • Drawing submittals to fabrication shop and client.
  • Monitor fabrication/construction and rectify any problems.
  • Provide start-up support and troubleshooting within the scope of supply.
  • Assist and advise other team members.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, and monitor the progress of the project with the project team to ensure adequate completion of deliverables and product within the allotted schedule and budget.
  • Communicate progress to required project stakeholders and address concerns accordingly.
  • Procurement plan generation and coordination with purchasing group.
  • Document/Deliverable list generation.
  • Facilitate kick-off meeting with client and project team.
  • Ensure project invoicing is completed in a timely manner and the project team is aware of contractual requirements for payment.
  • Execute project change management as required; including scope control, job cost updates, and schedule updates as required.
  • Expediting material and buyout procurement from suppliers.
  • Communicate with production personnel to ensure budget, schedule, and quality is maintained.
  • Manage the execution of shipping, construction, commissioning, start-up, and other site activities, as applicable to the contract scope.
  • Provide support on larger projects as required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience estimating similar products in a similar organization.
  • Sulfur Treatment 
  • Fabrication Knowledge

EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION

  • B.Sc. Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma with additional Project
  • Management training and experience.
  • P.Eng. designation through APEGA.
  • PMP designation.
