Location: Hybrid Based in Stellenbosch

A Leading Payment Aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions is looking for a Development Team Manager to lead a team of Developers in an Agile environment. The role focuses on team performance, process optimisation, recruitment of new developers, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Leading and managing a team of developers, including performance reviews and career development.
  • Overseeing resource allocation, workload balancing, and onboarding/offboarding.
  • Managing developer recruitment in collaboration with Senior Developers and HR.
  • Ensuring effective communication with Project Managers and Stakeholders.
  • Providing technical expertise to support and uphold work estimation an delivery commitments.
  • Supervising code reviews, testing, and Agile processes.
  • Serving as an escalation point for team challenges.
  • Driving continuous improvement and Agile best practices.
  • All other tasks related to the position.

Minimum requirements: 

  • Tertiary qualification in software development, computer science, or engineering.
  • Proven experience managing technical teams in software development.
  • Strong technical background to support estimation, decisions, and recruitment.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in performance management or recruitment is an advantage.
