Job Purpose
On behalf of our client, we are looking for an HR Officer who will support all HR operations across the organization, ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance and reporting. This role will help build and maintain a high-performing workforce aligned to Company's strategic goals, contribute to a positive employee experience, and support HR initiatives that drive organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment: job adverts, candidate screening, interviews, and selection.
Manage new hire orientation and induction programs to ensure seamless integration.
Partner with departments to identify human resource needs and forecast recruitment.
2. Policy, Compliance & HR Administration
Implement and enforce HR policies, procedures, and compliance-driven trainings.
Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
Support the resolution of employee relations issues including disciplinary processes and grievances.
3. Performance Management & Development
Facilitate performance appraisal cycles and ensure effective feedback mechanisms.
Support learning and development initiatives by coordinating training programs.
Identify capacity-building needs and promote a continuous learning culture.
4. Employee Engagement & Relations
Serve as the first point of contact for staff on HR-related matters.
Support welfare programs, benefits communication, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
Coordinate staff engagement activities to promote positive work culture.
5. HR Reporting & Metrics
Prepare HR reports on recruitment, turnover, performance, and training for management.
Monitor HR KPIs such as time-to-hire, attrition, and training effectiveness.
6. Risk Management & Ethics
Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling staff information.
Support HR audits and ensure compliance with Ugandan labor laws.
Advise on HR risks and mitigation measures.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Psychology or related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in an HR role or HR administration.
Knowledge of HR processes, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking ability.
