Job Purpose
On behalf of our client, we are recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the finance and administration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting tasks, financial reconciliations, invoicing and general office administrative duties. This role is suitable for someone with strong attention to detail, good numerical skills, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue EFRIS sales invoices in compliance with URA requirements.
- Perform reconciliation of mobile money statements and bank statements, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Handle cash transactions on behalf of the cashier, ensuring proper accountability.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Support the finance team with accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Carry out general office administrative work, including filing, record-keeping and supporting operations as needed.
- Liaise with auditors, suppliers and other stakeholders when required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- 12 years experience in a finance or accounting role (internship experience may be considered).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software including tally and quick books.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Integrity, reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
