Job Purpose

The Depo Limited is looking for an experienced and results-driven General Manager who will provide overall leadership and operational oversight across the organization's diverse business portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director while progressively assuming full operational leadership of the company. The role requires a leader capable of driving business growth, establishing strong corporate structures, and building high-performing teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

Provide overall leadership and direction across the company's business units.

Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue and strengthen the organization's market position.

Support the expansion of the organization into additional business ventures.

Business Development & Sales Growth

Drive commercial growth across the organization's core businesses.

Strengthen business development activities for DEPO Premium – Kampala.

Improve sales performance for DEPO FBW – Entebbe.

Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to increase revenue.

Organizational Development

Establish professional management structures across the organization.

Develop clear reporting lines, accountability frameworks, and operational systems.

Introduce governance and management practices that support long-term sustainability.

Portfolio Management

Oversee operations across the company's different entities including retail distribution, agriculture, and education.

Implement performance targets and monitoring systems across all business units.

Ensure effective coordination and alignment between the different operations.

Team Leadership

Build and lead high-performing teams across the organization.

Recruit and develop leadership capacity within key business units.

Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Operational Oversight

Monitor financial performance across business units.

Support budgeting, financial planning, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Ensure resources are effectively deployed to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field.

A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or equivalent management training will be an added advantage.

Minimum 7 years of Business development with at least 3 years in a senior management role.

Proven experience in business development, operational leadership, and organizational management.

Experience managing multi-business or multi-entity operations is highly desirable.

Exposure to corporate governance structures and professionally managed organizations will be an added advantage.
