Job Purpose

On behalf of our client in the Hospitality Industry, we are looking for Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling operational costs across the hotel. The role focuses on ensuring accurate cost tracking, adherence to budgets, minimization of wastage, and provision of timely financial insights to support management decision-making. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding profitability while maintaining service quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Monitoring & Control

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly operational costs across all departments.

Track food, beverage, housekeeping, and operational expenses against approved budgets.

Analyze cost variances and prepare variance reports with explanations and recommendations.

Ensure cost control procedures are followed in line with hotel policies.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare accurate cost reports for management review and decision-making.

Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cost projections.

Maintain up-to-date cost records, expense schedules, and supporting documentation.

Assist during internal and external audits by providing required financial data.

3. Inventory & Procurement Support

Work closely with stores and procurement teams to monitor stock usage and prevent losses.

Verify invoices, deliveries, and pricing to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

4. Compliance & Process Improvement

Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting standards.

Support the development and implementation of cost control systems and procedures.

Promote cost awareness and accountability among department heads

Qualifications and Skills Required

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in cost control, accounting, or financial analysis.

Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a strong advantage.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency in MS Excel and financial/accounting systems.

Ability to prepare clear financial reports and communicate findings effectively.

High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
