Job Purpose
On behalf of our client in the manufacturing sector, we are recruiting for a Logistics Assistant responsible for coordinating inbound logistics, managing shipping processes, and ensuring accurate documentation. The role focuses on efficient movement of goods from origin to warehouse, ensuring compliance with shipping requirements, while working closely with clearing agents.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics Coordination
Coordinate inbound shipments from suppliers to warehouse or designated locations.
Track shipments from origin to final delivery point and provide timely updates.
Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth delivery schedules.
2. Shipping Coordination
Arrange bookings with shipping lines and freight forwarders.
Review shipping schedules and ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
Monitor shipment timelines and escalate any delays or disruptions.
Documentation Management
Prepare, review, and manage all shipping and logistics documentation including invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, and delivery notes.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation in line with regulatory and client requirements.
Share required documents with clearing agents and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth clearance processes.
Stakeholder Coordination
Act as a key liaison between suppliers, transporters, clearing agents, and internal teams.
Maintain strong working relationships with logistics service providers to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Compliance & Process Adherence
Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Support adherence to import/export requirements by ensuring proper documentation and coordination.
Reporting & Tracking
Maintain accurate records of shipments, documentation, and delivery timelines.
Prepare periodic logistics reports highlighting shipment status, delays, and performance.
Issue Resolution
Identify and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or documentation errors.
Proactively communicate issues and propose solutions to minimize operational disruptions.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in logistics coordination, shipping, or supply chain operations.
Experience in handling shipping documentation and inbound logistics processes.
Strong understanding of shipping documentation and logistics processes.
Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics/ERP systems is an added advantage.
