Job Summary
On behalf of our client in the Medical Sector, we are recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Sales Manager to lead and manage the Sales and Marketing function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to the Sales & Marketing team. The role ensures that sales strategies are effectively developed and executed to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance the company's competitive position in the pharmaceutical industry. The Sales Manager also focuses on team development, client relationship management and ensuring that business operations are aligned with the company's vision and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership Develop, implement, and oversee sales and marketing strategies to achieve business objectives. Set realistic sales targets, monitor performance, and ensure consistent achievement.
- Team Management & Development Supervise, mentor, and motivate the Sales & Marketing team. Conduct performance evaluations, set KPIs, and facilitate training and development programs.
- Market Expansion & Business Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels. Lead tendering and prequalification processes with Government, NGOs, and private institutions.
- Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare professionals, institutions, and distributors. Ensure client satisfaction through timely communication, problem-solving, and value delivery.
- Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, pricing, and industry trends. Provide regular market reports to support strategic decisions.
- Compliance & Ethical Standards Ensure all sales and marketing activities are conducted in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and ethical standards.
- Reporting & Documentation Submit timely and accurate reports on sales performance, expenses, and market feedback. Ensure proper accountability of reimbursable expenses including mileage and airtime.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Sales and marketing or any related field.
- Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating a sales team to achieve targets.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including distribution channels, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of overall sales revenue and market share targets.
- Successful bidding and participation in tenders across Government, NGO, and Private sectors.
- Prequalification and registration of the company with relevant institutions for tender opportunities.
- Growth in the number of new businesses onboarded.
- Quality and strength of client and distributor relationships.
- Effective supervision, motivation, and performance of the Sales & Marketing team.
- Timely submission of accurate sales, competitor, and client feedback reports.
- Execution of planned marketing and promotional activities.
- Compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
