Richmond, VA | Pay Range- $35-53/hr.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chiller Technician to lead maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting for its HVAC fleet, with a strong focus on large tonnage air conditioning systems and chillers. This role is essential for ensuring equipment operates at peak efficiency while maintaining accurate documentation of all work performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead technician for large tonnage HVAC and chiller systems, handling troubleshooting, 

    pre-deployment testing, and repair services.
  • Research and source obsolete replacement parts; evaluate refrigeration conversion options.

  • Support the transition of the rental fleet to remote monitoring systems.

  • Mentor and train new Chiller and Service Technicians across branches and depots.

  • Provide technical expertise and operational support for the Turnkey program (large chiller and A/C rental installations).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field.

  • 57 years of hands-on experience with large tonnage HVAC/chiller equipment.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC systems.

  • Universal Certification required.

  • Strong leadership and consultative skills with mentoring experience.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to travel to support operations as needed.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (data entry and reporting).

  • 12 years in purchasing or supply chain preferred; prior manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Strong computer skills, including order-entry systems and internet-based applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Strong professional communication (written and verbal) and a positive attitude.

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting practices.

  • Must pass a DOT physical and drug test to operate company vehicles.

  • Valid drivers license with a clean MVR.

  • Must pass a background check.
