About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join a growing industrial technology organization.. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of critical materials.
This position will focus on sourcing and purchasing a variety of materials, including electronic components, machined parts, metal fabrications, and MRO supplies, while supporting a Just-In-Time (JIT) production environment.
What You'll Do
Source and purchase materials including electronic components, MRO items, machined parts, and fabricated metal components
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and performance
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to optimize cost, quality, and lead times
Monitor and expedite purchase orders to meet production timelines and prevent delays
Partner with inventory and production teams to align material flow with JIT requirements
Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor data within ERP systems
Troubleshoot and resolve supply chain issues, including shortages, delays, and quality concerns
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, planning, quality, and production teams
What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience in a Buyer or procurement role within a manufacturing environment
Experience purchasing electronic components (strongly preferred)
Background in industrial, equipment, or manufacturing settings
Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics BC or similar preferred)
Familiarity with machining, metal fabrication, and MRO purchasing is a plus
Self-starter with strong accountability and follow-through
