Position Overview

LMK Recruiting is partnering with a growth-oriented insurance organization to identify an experienced Employee Benefits Insurance Producer. This role is designed for a high-performing producer seeking long-term ownership, autonomy, and uncapped earning potential without corporate bureaucracy or private equity constraints. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and retaining a portfolio of employee benefits clients while building equity in their book of business from the start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close new employee benefits business
  • Build and manage a self-sourced book of business
  • Retain and expand existing client relationships
  • Design and deliver strategic employee benefits solutions
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and carrier requirements
  • Collaborate with leadership to support long-term growth initiatives
  • Manage your portfolio independently in a performance-driven environment

Compensation & Ownership

  • 60/40 commission split on new business
  • 50/50 commission split on renewals
  • 50% ownership of the book of business you build from Day 1
  • Uncapped earning potential
  • 1099 commission-only position with no base salary or draw

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of employee benefits insurance production experience
  • Demonstrated success prospecting, closing, and retaining small, mid-market, or large group clients
  • Hunter mentality with strong business development skills
  • At least 50% of current book self-sourced
  • Strong knowledge of benefits strategy, compliance, and carrier relationships
  • Experience with self-funded and captive arrangements preferred
  • Established professional network within the market
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup-minded, high-performance environment
