Job Openings Attorney

About the job Attorney

The Opportunity

Are you a seasoned Trusts & Estates attorney who loves the law but is tired of the "business" of running a firm? Or perhaps you are a government counsel or trust officer looking to return to a more client-centric, advisor-focused environment?

At Mildvidsky Law, we are not looking for "grinders." We are looking for sophisticated, empathetic, and relationship-driven advisors. We specialize in providing peace of mind through complex Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Special Needs Planning. This is a role for an attorney who wants to spend their time solving problems for families, not chasing billable-hour quotas in a BigLaw basement.

What You'll Do

  • Be the Lead Architect: Design and implement sophisticated estate plans, including complex trusts, asset protection strategies, and fiduciary frameworks.
  • Advise with Compassion: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through sensitive Elder Law matters, Special Needs planning, and long-term care strategy.
  • Manage the Lifecycle: Oversee Trust Administration and Fiduciary Services, ensuring that the legacy our clients build is protected and executed according to their wishes.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the firm's leadership to refine client service delivery and mentor junior staff (without the burden of managing firm operations).

Who You Are

  • A Seasoned Pro: You have 10+ years of dedicated experience in Estate Planning, Trusts & Estates, or Elder Law.
  • Licensed & Local: You are a licensed attorney in good standing, with a strong preference for NY and/or CT bar admission.
  • An Empathetic Advisor: You understand that "Elder Law" is about people, not just paperwork. You have a proven track record in a client-facing role.
  • A Subject Matter Expert: You have deep technical knowledge in at least one of the following:

    • Special Needs Planning
    • Medicaid Crisis/Non-Crisis Planning
    • Fiduciary / Trust Administration
    • Complex Wills & Trusts

Why This Role is Different

  • No "Admin" Headache: If you are a solo practitioner or small firm owner, this is your exit strategy from the "business" side. Focus on the law; we handle the billing, marketing, and operations.
  • Client-First Culture: We value the quality of the client relationship over the quantity of the hours logged.
  • Stability & Growth: Join a boutique firm with a stellar reputation and a consistent pipeline of high-quality work in the NY/CT markets.

Preferred Backgrounds

We are specifically interested in speaking with candidates who are:

  1. Current Solo Practitioners or Partners at small firms who want to shed the overhead and return to practicing law.
  2. Government Attorneys (AG's office, Agency Counsel) with a background in probate or elder affairs looking for a private sector transition.
  3. Fiduciary/Trust Officers from the wealth management channel (e.g., Fidelity, Schwab, BNY Mellon).
