Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician

Responsibilities
As a Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician, you will be a critical part of our service team, ensuring our customers' commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems are running safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Troubleshooting and Repairing complex commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment (e.g., walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in units, ice machines, etc.).
- Inspecting commercial equipment and related components to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with customers and branch staff regarding the status of repairs, ensuring schedules are maintained and any delays are promptly communicated.
- Completing service tickets accurately and according to company procedures.
- Managing truck stock to ensure the service vehicle is adequately supplied with necessary parts.
- Maintaining the service vehicle, tools, and uniforms to company standards.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety.
- Setting a positive example and acting as a company advocate for less experienced or new technicians.
Required Experience & Qualifications
We are looking for seasoned professionals with a proven track record. This is not an apprentice or entry-level position.
- 2+ years of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, Commercial HVAC, or relevant military service is required.
- Universal EPA certification (or EPA I & II) is mandatory. CFESA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a commercial HVAC and Refrigeration technician is required. Experience with systems like parallel rack systems is highly desirable, but not required.
- Demonstrated consistency in work history
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Possession of your own industry-standard hand tools.
- Mechanically inclined with a strong hunger to learn new techniques and approaches.
- Superb customer service skills and standard computer skills.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work from various heights, and crawl in tight quarters.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive Pay: $25 - $35+ per hour (Equivalent to $52,000 to $72,800 annually), plus potential performance bonuses.
- Schedule: Typical hours are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with a rotational on-call schedule requiring some nights, weekends, and holidays (frequency varies by department size). Occasional overnight travel may be necessary depending on the market.
