Job Openings CFO - Part time

About the job CFO - Part time

Role Objective

Locanda Homes is seeking a strategic, fundraising-focused Part-Time CFO to lead our financial strategy through our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level financial vision and operational execution, serving as a key architect in our investment readiness and long-term capital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising & Capital Strategy

  • Investment Readiness: Build and maintain an "investor-ready" data room, including historical financials, projections, and legal compliance documents.

  • Financial Modeling: Develop robust, driver-based 3–5 year financial models to support Series A/B narratives and valuation discussions.
  • Equity Management: Manage the company's Cap Table, advising on dilution, ESOP structures, and convertible note/SAFE terms.
  • Pitch Support: Collaborate with the CEO on pitch decks, specifically translating business milestones into compelling financial stories for VCs and angel investors.

  • Due Diligence: Lead the financial due diligence process, acting as the primary point of contact for potential investors.

2. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Runway & Burn Management: Monitor cash flow with precision, providing weekly updates on runway and advising on "trimming the fat" to extend the timeline to the next milestone.
  • Unit Economics: Define and track industry-specific KPIs (e.g., LTV, CAC, Payback Period, Gross Margins) to ensure the business model is scaling efficiently.

  • Scenario Planning: Create "Best-Case/Worst-Case" models to help the leadership team make informed decisions on hiring, expansion, or pivoting.

3. Operational Oversight & Controls

  • Financial Infrastructure: Oversee the transition from basic bookkeeping to professional accrual accounting and automated reporting systems.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Implement annual and quarterly budgeting processes, holding department heads accountable for variances.

  • Tax & Compliance: Ensure the startup is compliant with local regulations, tax filings, and potential R&D tax credits or incentives.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 10+ years in senior finance roles, with a proven track record of leading successful fundraising rounds in the startup or hospitality/real estate tech sector.
  • The "Startup" Mindset: Comfortable operating in a "lean" environment—willing to dive into the spreadsheets personally while simultaneously advising the board.
  • Communication: Ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance founders and clear reports for board members.
  • Network: (Preferred) Existing relationships with regional VCs, angel networks, or financial institutions.
