Insurance Coverage & Commercial Litigation Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE

A dynamic mid-sized construction and civil litigation defense firm in New York City — known for its work on behalf of high-profile insurance carrier and corporate clients — is seeking a mid-level associate to join its growing team. The firm handles a wide spectrum of matters including general liability, bodily injury, property damage, and coverage disputes, offering associates varied caseloads and genuine courtroom exposure from early in their tenure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage civil litigation defense matters from rapid response investigation through trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery across a varied caseload including premises liability and bodily injury
• Analyze and advise on insurance coverage disputes and policy interpretation questions
• Conduct and defend depositions; appear in state and federal court
• Communicate directly with carrier clients and provide regular case reporting and strategy updates

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; NY Bar admission in good standing
• 3+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience at a law firm
• Strong case management skills and ability to handle a high-volume caseload
• Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience with coverage analysis or construction liability is a plus
