MPI Inspector II

Position Summary:

Performs magnetic particle inspections and non-destructive testing on oilfield tool equipment ensuring certifications are applied according to ASTM and API standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities: (Number direct/indirect reports)

• N/A

Essential Duties: (list in priority order with most important duties listed first)

• Performs visual inspections of casting and other oilfield equipment.

• Buffs and cleans to visually inspect castings and oilfield equipment to ASTM and API standards.

• Magnetizes metal with coil for black light inspections.

• Provides inspection reports.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Attention to detail

• Knowledge of operations of MPI machine required

• Knowledge of oilfield tool equipment

• Knowledge of required testing

Education and Experience:

• Certification of Non-Destructive Testing Technician Level I-III

• Jaeger Vision Eye Exam unexpired

• Up to date MPI Certifications

• Up to date ASNT TC-1A certification

• Minimum 2 years experience in NDT/MPI

• Required training courses for certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities
• Work performed in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
