About the job Senior Director Business Recovery & Insolvency
Our client is a leading Australian chartered accounting group offering comprehensive audit, advisory, restructuring and forensic services, backed by global network. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director – Business Recovery & Insolvency to lead engagements across business recovery, restructuring, and insolvency based in Dubai, UAE. This role requires a strong background in mining, corporate M&A transactions, banking, and finance, with proven expertise in turnaround strategies, divestments, and corporate advisory services. The successful candidate will work closely with boards, lenders, investors, and regulators to deliver strategic solutions that preserve value, stabilise operations, and enable successful outcomes for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business recovery and restructuring engagements, including turnarounds, insolvency proceedings, distressed M&A, and divestments.
- Provide strategic advisory services to clients across mining, banking, and corporate sectors, guiding them through complex challenges.
- Manage and execute corporate M&A transactions in distressed or transitional environments, including due diligence, valuation, and negotiations.
- Partner with financial institutions, private equity firms, and corporate clients on strategic restructuring solutions.
- Drive advisory projects from inception to delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, financial integrity, and stakeholder alignment.
- Mentor and lead teams of advisors, analysts, and consultants, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, including boards, creditors, regulators, and government agencies.
- Stay ahead of market, regulatory, and industry trends across mining, corporate finance, and banking sectorsto anticipate client needs.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business; post-graduate qualifications (MBA, CA, CFA, CPA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 15+ years’ experience in business recovery, insolvency, or corporate advisory roles, ideally with exposure to mining, banking, and finance sectors.
- Proven expertise in corporate restructuring, distressed M&A, divestments, and insolvency administration.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and transaction execution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in client engagement, business development, and practice growth.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence senior executives and boards.
- Deep knowledge of relevant insolvency and restructuring legislation, financial regulations, and compliance frameworks.
