About the job Manager Railway - Equipment & Parts Sales

With a strong focus on operational excellence, customer service and market expansion, the business is strengthening its presence across the railway, transportation and infrastructure sectors.
They are seeking a commercially driven Manager – Railway to lead sales growth, customer development and market expansion across the company's railway spare parts and components portfolio. This role is suited to a hands-on sales and business development professional with strong knowledge of railway products, customer requirements and the ability to identify, pursue and convert commercial opportunities across operators, contractors, maintenance providers and infrastructure stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for railway spare parts, components and related products.
- Support the achievement of sales targets, revenue growth and margin improvement objectives.
- Develop new customer relationships with railway operators, contractors, maintenance companies, OEMs, distributors and regional partners.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospects, opportunities, quotations and customer engagements.
- Drive sales activity across existing and new accounts to expand market share.
Customer & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective railway sector customers.
- Understand customer technical, operational and commercial requirements and align product offerings accordingly.
- Support repeat business through responsive customer engagement, service follow-up and reliable supply coordination.
- Act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries, spare parts requirements and commercial discussions.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements, delivery timelines and service expectations are properly managed.
Commercial Support & Pricing
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions for railway spare parts and components.
- Support pricing discussions in line with supplier costs, market conditions, customer requirements and margin expectations.
- Monitor competitor activity, customer feedback, product demand and market pricing trends.
- Provide commercial input to support pricing, product positioning and supplier selection decisions.
- Ensure quotations and proposals are commercially accurate, competitive and aligned with company policy.
Market Development
- Research and identify new market segments, customers, projects and growth opportunities within the railway sector.
- Track railway infrastructure developments, maintenance programmes, fleet expansion and procurement opportunities.
- Support engagement with suppliers, manufacturers and international partners where required.
- Provide market intelligence on demand trends, customer behaviour, competitor activity and sector developments.
- Represent the company professionally in customer meetings, industry events, supplier discussions and commercial negotiations.
Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, finance, operations and technical teams to support customer delivery.
- Track sales activity, pipeline progress, tender submissions, customer feedback and revenue performance.
- Prepare regular updates on business development activity, sales opportunities and market insights.
- Support management with accurate data and commercial information required for decision-making.
- Ensure customer orders, delivery requirements and after-sales follow-up are managed effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in sales, business development or commercial roles within railway, transportation, industrial products, infrastructure, spare parts, engineering components or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of railway spare parts, components, maintenance requirements and sector procurement processes.
- Proven ability to develop customer relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Experience preparing quotations, commercial proposals and tender submissions.
- Good commercial awareness with an understanding of pricing, margins, supplier costs and customer profitability.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track sales activity, opportunities, customer requirements and market trends.
- Proficiency in English is required; Arabic or other regional language skills would be advantageous.
