About the job Business Development Manager - Transport & Logistics
Our client is a leading tier 1 multinational Transport & Logistics conglomerate, they seek an experienced Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving growth strategy across KSA GCC. The BDM will identify new business opportunities, build relationships with key existing and new customers, support strategic bids, and develop tailored solutions to expand the companys presence in core and emerging logistics sectors, in alignment with Vision 2030 and major giga-projects. As part of the strategic growth agenda, this role will spearhead their commercial expansion across core and emerging logistics verticals. This is a high-impact role focused on securing strategic contracts, driving revenue growth, and enhancing profile market presence, including high-potential cold chain and pharmaceuticals sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Market Development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across core and new service lines
- Develop and execute market entry strategies in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and priority sectors
- Drive targeted commercial wins to support fleet growth from 350 to 500 trucks by 2027
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Position the company as a preferred logistics provider for giga-projects (NEOM, Red Sea, Qiddiya, etc.)
- Collaborate with OEMs and industry bodies to elevate brand visibility and reach
Tendering, Pricing & Proposals
- Lead the end-to-end bid process including qualification, pricing, and submission
- Create tailored commercial proposals aligned with client needs and profitability goals
- Analyse competitor activity to refine pricing strategy and improve win rates
Sales Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, lead, and coach a high-performing sales team across key regional hubs
- Implement structured sales processes, CRM tools, and performance frameworks
- Drive continuous improvement in selling capabilities and customer engagement
Strategic Initiatives & Collaboration
- Align closely with Operations, Finance, HR, and Fleet teams on bid execution and delivery
- Contribute to innovation projects including cold chain logistics and 4PL service models
Reporting & Performance Management
- Track pipeline performance, market trends, and sales metrics against growth targets
- Deliver regular business updates to the General Manager and senior leadership
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline (MBA preferred)
- 10 - 15 years business development experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain in the GCC
- Proven success in securing major contracts and launching new commercial verticals
- Strong knowledge of Saudi logistics landscape, Vision 2030, and regulatory bodies (Wasl, SFDA)
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial and financial acumen
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and client management skills
- Entrepreneurial approach with a focus on growth and solution-driven delivery
- Fluent in both Arabic and English
