Job Title: Ciena 6500 Optical Systems Installer (Temporary/Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Ciena 6500 Optical Systems Installers for temporary assignments supporting large-scale mission-critical telecom infrastructure projects. Youll play a key role in installing, configuring, and testing Ciena 6500 equipment and related optical systems nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, and cable Ciena 6500 and other Ciena optical equipment per engineering specifications.
• Perform fiber optic cable management, splicing, and connectorization.
• Conduct system turn-up, provisioning, and basic troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation documentation.
• Use OTDR, power meters, and other fiber testing equipment to verify installations.
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards on job sites.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other field technicians.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience installing Ciena 6500 or similar optical transport equipment.
• Strong knowledge of optical networking preferred (DWDM, OTN, SONET/SDH, ROADM).
• Proficiency in fiber optic cable installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
• Ciena certifications or manufacturer training a plus.
