Lotus Group is proud to partner with a leading supplier and transporter of fuel and lubricants to identify a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive team in Edmonton. The CFO is responsible for the overall financial leadership of the company, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, capital planning, financial strategy, and stakeholder relations. They will oversee a multi-functional finance team, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide clear financial insights to support operational and strategic initiatives. They are looking for someone who leads with integrity, fosters accountability, and aligns financial operations with business goals.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead the Finance team in all areas, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and Executive team, providing financial input on business decisions, strategic growth, and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess company performance, support strategic planning, and evaluate business scenarios.
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee financial reporting for Canadian and U.S. operations (including subsidiaries)
- Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Present timely, accurate, and relevant financial reports and insights to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, and financial partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance and values-driven culture.
Role Requirements
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Post-secondary in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance or executive role.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
- Ability to work full-time in office.
- Experience leading financial reporting for privately held companies, including board reporting, shareholder communications, and audit coordination.
- Proven track record of leading finance functions in a mid-to-large-sized company.
- Experience overseeing consolidated financial reporting for multi-entity and cross-border operations.
- Fuel, transportation, or industrial services sector experience is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of capital structure, corporate finance, and financial modelling.
- Proficient in accounting systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and structure high-performing finance teams.
