Purchasing & Asset Manager, Residential & Commercial Construction

 Job Description:

Lotus Group has partnered with a dynamic and rapidly expanding roofing and exterior construction leader based in Calgary, Alberta that works on residential homes and commercial buildings. Operating through multiple subsidiaries, they are known for their commitment to innovation, and operational excellence. They are seeking a highly experienced Purchasing & Asset Manager, Residential & Commercial Construction to join their team.

This individual will lead the sourcing, acquisition, and lifecycle management of all materials, equipment, and fleet assets across their growing group of companies. This role is pivotal in ensuring the teams are equipped, efficient, and cost-effective balancing operational excellence with disciplined financial stewardship. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on procurement expertise and the ability to build systems structure, and accountability at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Leadership

  • Oversee the procurement of all materials, supplies, tools, and equipment across multiple divisions and job sites.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and availability.
  • Establish and manage vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, terms, and service-level agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, preferred vendor programs, and cost savings initiatives.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support project schedules and minimize downtime.

Asset Management & Fleet Oversight

  • Lead the full lifecycle management of company assets, including tools, equipment, and vehicles. 
  • Oversee procurement, maintenance, utilization, and replacement planning for a growing fleet 
  • Implement systems to track asset usage, condition, and location.
  • Reduce loss, misuse, and downtime through strong controls and accountability structures. 
  • Partner with operations to ensure field teams are properly equipped and supported.

Systems, Process & Inventory Management

  • Build and refine procurement and asset management systems (ERP, inventory tracking, fleet systems).
  • Standardize processes across companies and teams to ensure consistency and efficiency. 
  • Establish inventory controls and reordering systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement workflows and asset utilization.

Financial Stewardship

  • Develop and manage procurement and asset budgets.
  • Track and report on cost savings, spend analysis, and asset ROI.
  • Ensure alignment with company financial goals and margin targets.
  • Support forecasting and planning for growth and seasonal demand.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for purchasing, inventory, and asset coordination. 
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, and Branch Leadership.
  • Act as a key partner in scaling the organization's infrastructure to support continued growth.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or asset management (Residential & Commercial Construction/Restoration industry preferred).
  • SCMP designation (Supply Chain Management Professional) is required or considered a strong asset. 
  • AMP designation (Asset Management Professional) is considered an asset. 
  • Experience managing procurement and/or fleet operations in a multi-location environment. 
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost savings and vendor optimization.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, ERP platforms, and fleet management tools.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and analyzing spend.
  • Proven ability to build systems, processes, and teams in a growing organization.
