Business Development Representative

Lotus Group is proud to partner with a growing and highly respected provider of geomatics and technical field services to identify a Business Development Representative based out of Sherwood Park, AB. This organization supports major energy and infrastructure projects across the region, delivering high-quality data, field execution, and technical expertise to some of the most complex project environments in Western Canada.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is instrumental in driving revenue and building long-term client relationships. You will own the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while contributing to proposals, estimating, and marketing initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and organizational growth objectives
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to contract award
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline tracking, forecasting, and client activity within the CRM system
  • Leverage your network and relentless, targeted efforts to generate immediate opportunities
  • Grow service lines with a focus on major energy and infrastructure projects
  • Build and maintain a strong, qualified pipeline across key target sectors
  • Develop and submit high-quality EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and client-facing proposals and presentations in collaboration with technical and operations teams
  • Lead the development of competitive pricing strategies and detailed cost estimates in collaboration with technical and operations teams
  • Maintain proposal templates, materials, and submission tracking
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, partners, and key industry stakeholders
  • Partner with Operations to manage client expectations, resolve issues, and gather feedback to continuously improve service delivery, increase win rates, and identify repeat business opportunities
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, pricing benchmarks, new market segments, and strategic growth opportunities
  • Evaluate opportunities and lead Go/No-Go decisions with leadership
  • Support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and brand development
  • Contribute to presentations, case studies, and promotional materials
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance brand presence

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–10 years of business development or sales experience within geomatics, engineering, or civil construction
  • Post-secondary education in business, geomatics, engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven history of generating and converting a high volume of leads into revenue
  • Market intelligence and experience in major energy and infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of technical principles across surveying, materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and civil construction
  • Established network of clients, partners, and industry contacts that can be leveraged to generate immediate opportunities
  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Proven experience developing proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft 365
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, opportunity evaluation, and pipeline management
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven with a keen sense of accountability
