Lotus Group is proud to partner with our valued client, a respected building systems expert across Alberta, to identify a Journeyman HVAC Technician based in Grande Prairie.

This individual will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of systems. Responsibilities may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and combined heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. The successful candidate must be willing to work on call after hours and weekends as required.

This is a full-time, permanent role for an individual who is looking to expand their technical skillset, regional reach, and potential to grow into leadership opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, components, and fixtures.
• Conduct timely inspections and testing of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, ensuring accurate identification and reporting of any deficiencies or defects.
• Install HVAC systems in alignment with construction plans, engineering specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform annual maintenance on both steam and hot water boiler systems.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of completed work, including labour and materials used.
• Support the planning, scoping, estimating, and execution of new projects or maintenance work.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Adhere to environmental protection guidelines for all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Assist with material planning and coordinate the timely delivery of necessary equipment and supplies.
• May be assigned supervisory responsibilities based on operational needs and customer requirements.
• Perform additional duties as required in support of team and departmental objectives.

Role Requirements

• Certified Journeyman HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic required (Red Seal preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the trade required.
• Proven experience in commercial HVAC systems is essential.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers licence and clean driving record required.
• Willingness to travel throughout Northern Alberta.
• Ability to be on call for evenings and weekends.
• Class A Gas Fitter License is an asset.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is preferred.
• Strong preference for those local to Grande Prairie and surrounding communities.
• Proven success in promoting and selling maintenance agreements and providing initial support to the sales team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Capable of thriving in both a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and independently.
• Strong commitment to safety, both personally and organizationally.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust quickly and foster long-term client relationships.
• Team-oriented mindset and can-do attitude that thrives in a goal-driven culture.
