Sales & Marketing Manager
Job Description:
Lotus Group is proud to partner with our valued client to identify a Sales & Marketing Manager in Edmonton, AB. An established Western Canadian company, they design, manufacture, and install custom architectural products used in commercial developments, public infrastructure, and multi-site organizations.
Reporting to the Interim CEO, the Sales & Marketing Manager develops and executes sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue and profitability objectives. This role is a sales mentor and working leader of a team of four (and growing), taking personal accountability and leading by example to establish new and grow existing key client relationships.
As part of the senior leadership team, this individual is ultimately accountable for the overall sales direction and profitable revenue growth of the business, ensuring existing and new products and services provided by the company are a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Role Responsibilities
Sales Management
- Drive critical revenue growth through grassroots sales initiatives and target setting, personally achieving sales quotas and ensuring the sales team achieves sales quotas.
- Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation, conversion, and follow-up, improving closed-won ratios and increasing efficiencies in the sales process.
- Analyze and update sales performance metrics and implement targeted improvement plans.
- Monitor and refine minimum expected sales activities to drive sales pipelines and ensure the sales team is achieving reliable pipeline growth.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to senior management.
- Ensure all marketing communications and public relations uphold and enhance the company's brand identity and drive revenue growth
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, campaigns, and digital content to enhance brand visibility and drive revenue growth
- Organize and participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote the company's products and services.
- Build partnerships with local businesses and organizations to build community engagement within the local market.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong ongoing relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Utilize and optimize CRM software and processes to ensure a data-driven approach to lead generation, sales qualification, sales, customer relationships, follow-up, and recurring business is in place to maximize customer satisfaction and retention while quantitatively assessing the performance of the sales & marketing team.
- Leverage customer feedback to refine strategies, improve offerings, and enhance satisfaction.
- Proactively address customer concerns to improve service delivery and long-term relationships.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage direct reports to foster collaboration and high performance, actively demonstrating sales competence through achievement of personal sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to ensure professional growth.
- Oversee and approve hiring, vacations, terminations, and training and development of all direct reports along with HR.
- Design and implement training programs to develop team capabilities and drive performance.
- Align team objectives with organizational goals and drive accountability across departments.
- Foster collaboration across sales & marketing, operations, finance, production, and service/install teams to ensure seamless strategy execution.
- Champion the company's core values and create a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure art, design, project management, and estimating enable effective and efficient sales outcomes and to align operational schedules with customer expectations.
Strategic Management
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitors to refine strategies.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new markets, product launches and enhancing existing offerings.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and innovation to continuously improve prospecting approaches and increase close rates.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term planning and business development initiatives.
Budget & Resource Management
- Along with the leadership team, develop & manage yearly budgets, including being accountable for all sales & marketing expenses.
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
- Optimize resource allocation to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all activities adhere to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of business-to-business sales experience with a proven track record of driving consistent profitable revenue growth in similar industries.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a team of business development and sales development team members, with a clear demonstration of metrics backed selling activities.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience selling custom-manufactured products strongly preferred.
- Experience working with developers, architects, and designers in a B2B environment is desired.
- Proven ability to grow and manage long-term relationships with multi-site and multi-project clients.
- Experience successfully responding to tenders and preparing proposals that streamline processes, reduce response times, and increase win rates.
- Expert knowledge in utilizing CRM systems to track leads and activities, maintain pipelines, and produce data to understand and manage sales team performance.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a talent for setting objectives, inspiring teams, resolving conflicts, and ensuring high performance.
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with expertise in negotiation, conflict resolution, and presenting ideas clearly.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to evaluate business needs, stay ahead of industry trends, and continuously improve processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills for managing diverse teams and operational challenges.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to cross-functional teamwork.
- Adaptable and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
