Human Resources Manager

 Job Description:

Lotus Group is collaborating with our respected client, who is a private diagnostic imaging company based in Red Deer, Alberta.  They provide a range of medical imaging services to patients throughout Central Alberta, working with physicians, and specialists to help diagnose and monitor medical conditions.  They are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team in Red Deer, Alberta.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Office, this individual will oversee all aspects of human resources functions and clinic operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence.  They will foster a positive company culture that emphasizes respect, integrity, value, quality, and safety.  This role combines hands-on HR and operational responsibilities with strategic leadership and organizational planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Leadership & Compliance:

  • Evaluate organizational structures and HR frameworks to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with federal and provincial legislation and organizational objectives.
  • Monitor changes to employment legislation and industry regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain compliance with privacy legislation, including FOIP, HIA, PIPA, and information management requirements.
  • Stay informed of evolving regulatory and accreditation standards, ensuring ongoing organizational compliance.
  • Review, draft, and manage employment contracts, agreements, and related documentation.
  • Serve as the primary HR resource and liaison for employment related legal matters and workplace risk management.

Talent Acquisition & Employee Relations:

  • Partner with, support and assist Managers throughout the recruitment process by providing guidance on workforce planning, compensation recommendations, interview strategies, interview questions, candidate evaluation, offer preparation and onboarding.
  • Independently lead full-cycle recruitment initiatives for select roles or when additional recruitment support is required.
  • Foster positive employee relations by addressing workplace concerns, resolving conflicts, and conducting workplace investigations as required.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and ensure accurate and timely HR documentation.
  • Maintain confidential employee records in accordance with legislative and organizational requirements.

Performance Management & Employee Development:

  • Partner with leaders to support performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching, feedback, and employee development planning.
  • Coordinate learning, training, and professional development initiatives to enhance employee capabilities and organizational effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.

Operational Excellence & Strategic Partnership:

  • Collaborate with clinic leadership to ensure employees adhere to operational procedures, clinical protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with managers to monitor service quality, stakeholder satisfaction, and overall operational performance.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on service delivery, customer experience, quality, and workplace safety.
  • Partner with Account Managers and operational leaders to implement procedural updates and organizational changes.
  • Actively contribute to management team meetings, providing strategic HR insight and recommendations.
  • Represent the organization on industry, educational, and professional advisory committees to support workforce development and industry collaboration.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPHR designation is considered a strong asset; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a regulated and service-oriented environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta employment legislation, workplace investigations, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and improving HR policies, programs, and organizational processes.
  • Experience reviewing and managing employment contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to assess organizational structures and recommend practical improvements that support business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of privacy legislation and compliance requirements, including FOIP, HIA, and PIPA.
  • Membership, or willingness to obtain membership, with the Clinic Managers Association of Alberta and Canada.
