Job Description:

This is a hands-on, in-office technical support role based at their Calgary location. You will be the go-to resource for product troubleshooting, evaluations, and repairs, working closely with the sales team to provide technical backup when customers need answers fast. You'll learn the product lines inside and out, become a trusted resource for clients and colleagues alike, and grow into a key contributor on the team.

Role Responsibilities
System Maintenance & Repair: Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on electromechanical equipment, replacing defective parts and calibrating instruments.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose non-functioning components, such as servos, sensors, and motion control networks, utilizing multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software
Programming & Configuration: Program, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to meet specific project or operational requirements.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure systems comply with local electrical codes and industry safety standards. Log all maintenance activities, parts replacements, and system modifications.
Oversee commissioning and integration of new and existing components and systems
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial automation and controls products
Conduct product evaluations and testing in the Calgary office/lab
Support the sales team with technical product information when customers call in
Assist with customer inquiries and provide timely, solutions-focused responses
Oversee and conduct customer training either on site or in a classroom environment ie. lunch and learns
Operate hands-on tools and equipment, including power tools (e.g., miter saws)
Build your knowledge base across the company's 50+ technology lines
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-trust team environment
Travel occasionally to customer sites and other offices as needed (~10–20% of the time; trips are typically 2–3 days)
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mechanically and technically inclined, you know your way around tools and aren't afraid to get hands-on
Familiarity with PLC programming, interfacing, and industrial communication protocols
Familiarity with robotic systems and industrial controls an asset
Strong problem-solving skills, resourceful, solution-focused, and able to work independently
Excellent communication skills, comfortable supporting both internal teammates and external customers
Strong work ethic and a team-first attitude; this team is built on trust and accountability
Valid Class 5 driver's licence required
Valid passport required (occasional international travel to the US and other regions)
Education: A diploma or background in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is preferred
