Business Development Sales Manager

Based in Edmonton, this individual will take ownership of a strong, established local market and play a key role in accelerating growth across Alberta, with the opportunity to expand into Western Canada and the United States as performance is proven. The opportunity is to build on that foundation and scale it into a dominant market presence. Role Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for driving direct revenue growth through a hands-on, highly proactive sales approach. You will act as the face of the business in the Edmonton market, building relationships with architects, designers, builders, trades, healthcare professionals, and homeowners, while leveraging the organization's unique advantage as a local manufacturer. As a trusted advisor who brings a hunter mindset, you will proactively generate opportunities through outreach, networking, and site visits, while leading in-depth needs assessments to recommend tailored elevator and wheelchair lift solutions.

Direct Sales & Market Growth:

  • Generate new business through proactive outreach, cold calling, networking, and in-person site visits
  • Take full ownership of the Edmonton market, building on an existing revenue base and driving significant growth
  • Conduct detailed in-home and on-site consultations, tailoring solutions based on customer needs, space, and use case
  • Prepare, present, and revise accurate, clear, and professional technical proposals
  • Deliver accurate and timely quotes, with a strong emphasis on speed, responsiveness, and follow-up
  • Identify and pursue new market segments across residential and light commercial sectors

Referral Network & Channel Development

  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with architects, designers, builders, trades, occupational therapists, and real estate professionals
  • Host and facilitate lunch-and-learns, product demonstrations, and facility tours to educate and engage specifiers
  • Develop and grow builder and partner programs to drive consistent referral-based business
  • Actively engage in the local construction and development community to expand brand presence
  • Represent the organization at tradeshows, industry events, and community engagements
  • Ensure timely and consistent follow-up on all event-generated opportunities

Sales Execution & Customer Experience

  • Lead consultative sales conversations, adapting approach based on the customer type (homeowner, builder, or commercial client)
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy across all proposals, specifications, and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and delivery to ensure a seamless customer experience

CRM Discipline & Sales Operations

  • Own and maintain the CRM as the single source of truth for all sales activity
  • Track every lead, interaction, and opportunity from initial contact through to close
  • Maintain a clearly defined pipeline with consistent follow-up and stage management
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline health, activity levels, and revenue forecasting

Market Intelligence & Value Proposition

  • Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, including products, positioning, and go-to-market strategies
  • Gather and share market feedback to refine messaging and strengthen the company's value proposition
  • Contribute to the long-term development of a structured and scalable sales process
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in building codes, accessibility regulations, and full product offerings

Role Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in direct sales, business development, or a similar client-facing role
  • Proven success in a hunter-style role with a track record of generating new business
  • Experience selling custom, technical, or project-based products, ideally within construction, building products, or related industries
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to adapt your approach across different buyer types
  • Highly organized with strong CRM management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Comfortable with in-person site visits
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a find a way attitude
  • Knowledge of North American Building Codes an asset
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract required
  • Valid Passport and ability to travel internationally
  • Comfortable with travel when required in Western Canada and Western USA
  • Experience working with builders, developers, or contractor networks preferred
