We're hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join one of our key client teams through a long-term staff augmentation engagement. The client is a global technology-driven company with high-quality engineering standards and strong product ownership culture.

This role focuses on building robust, scalable automated testing solutions for backend systems and APIs, with Playwright as the preferred framework.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend systems and APIs.

  • Prioritize test coverage using Playwright (preferred) or Selenium.

  • Collaborate with backend engineers and QA peers to define testing strategies and CI pipelines.
  • Implement and maintain reusable test scripts for RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Participate in code reviews, test case design, and continuous integration efforts.
  • Identify, report, and track bugs throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Ensure high test reliability, speed, and maintainability across services

  • Support test execution and defect triaging across agile sprints


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA automation (focused on backend/API testing)

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred) or Selenium

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language used for automation (JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and JSON

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Fluent English communication (written & spoken)

  • Comfortable working during Pacific Time (PST) hours.
