Senior Oracle/Java Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our client team. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of Oracle database expertise and Java application development skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a high-availability, compliance-driven setting.

Database Administration & Development

The candidate must have proven experience writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and packages in Oracle. Strong query optimization skills are required, including the ability to analyze execution plans and identify performance bottlenecks. Familiarity with Oracle AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) reporting and analysis is expected, as is experience with SQL Plan Management — including the use of SQL Plan Baselines to lock in and stabilize performant execution plans across environments.

Application Development

Candidates must have hands-on experience developing enterprise Java applications with Spring or a comparable framework, including dependency injection, transaction management, and RESTful service development. Experience working in high-transaction, high-availability environments is required, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain performant, resilient application code. Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting, is a plus.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Experience with AWS services is a plus, particularly in application hosting, database connectivity, or cloud migration initiatives.

Regulated Environment

Experience working within a GxP-regulated environment is strongly preferred. Candidates with a background in Life Sciences — including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries — will be given favorable consideration. Familiarity with validation processes, audit readiness, and compliance documentation is a differentiator.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong Oracle and Java background.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, AWR analysis, and SQL Plan Management.
• Java Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).
• Oracle WebLogic Server administration and deployment experience
• Advanced English skills.
