What You’ll Do

As our Data Systems Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the systems that power our smart metering and IoT platforms. You will:

• Design and develop scalable data systems and infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient data flow across systems
• Work with tools like SQL, Parquet, and Postgres to manage structured and semi-structured data
• Implement and tune OLAP and OLTP systems for performance and scalability
• Define and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation
• Establish and improve data governance practices and system reliability standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical data solutions
• Utilize platforms such as AWS to support and scale our cloud-based data environment
• Support analytics and reporting initiatives through tools like Tableau or Power BI

• Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and enterprise database structures
• Strong experience designing and developing data systems and data systems infrastructure
• Proficient in SQL, with hands-on experience in tools like Postgres, Oracle, and MySQL
• Familiarity with Parquet, data warehousing, and data lakehouse architectures
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, OLTP/OLAP, and performance optimization techniques
• Comfortable navigating evolving systems, building from scratch, and filling in the gaps when needed
• Team player mentality — willing to pitch in, collaborate, and support broader goals

Nice to Have:

• Monitor data quality and implement validation checks to ensure trust in data
• Exposure to IoT, sensor data, or building automation systems
• Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with real-time streaming tools like Kafka or Spark
