What You’ll Do
As our Data Systems Developer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the systems that power our smart metering and IoT platforms. You will:
- Design and develop scalable data systems and infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient data flow across systems
- Work with tools like SQL, Parquet, and Postgres to manage structured and semi-structured data
- Implement and tune OLAP and OLTP systems for performance and scalability
- Define and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation
- Establish and improve data governance practices and system reliability standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical data solutions
- Utilize platforms such as AWS to support and scale our cloud-based data environment
- Support analytics and reporting initiatives through tools like Tableau or Power BI
What We’re Looking For

- Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and enterprise database structures
- Strong experience designing and developing data systems and data systems infrastructure
- Proficient in SQL, with hands-on experience in tools like Postgres, Oracle, and MySQL
- Familiarity with Parquet, data warehousing, and data lakehouse architectures
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, OLTP/OLAP, and performance optimization techniques
- Comfortable navigating evolving systems, building from scratch, and filling in the gaps when needed
- Team player mentality — willing to pitch in, collaborate, and support broader goals
Nice to Have:
- Monitor data quality and implement validation checks to ensure trust in data
- Exposure to IoT, sensor data, or building automation systems
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with real-time streaming tools like Kafka or Spark
