The Role
We are looking for a Cloud Operations Manager who takes direct ownership of system reliability, operational health, and client-impacting technical issues. This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong background in technical operations, infrastructure, and monitoring, who is comfortable staying close to systems while leading day-to-day operational execution.
You will be responsible for ensuring our platforms and supporting systems are properly monitored, issues are identified early, and incidents are investigated and resolved efficiently. This role serves as the primary operational escalation point, working closely with Engineering and Operations Support to protect system stability and client experience.
Reporting to the CTO, this role plays a critical part in maintaining service reliability, reducing operational risk, and ensuring continuity across our cloud, infrastructure, and support environments.
What Youll Do
- Own day-to-day technical operations and system reliability across our platforms
- Monitor system health, alerts, and dashboards to proactively identify issues
- Investigate incidents and validate root causes before escalation
- Act as the first point of response for system health issues and operational alerts
- Support AWS-based infrastructure, including servers, storage, and monitoring tools
- Ensure monitoring coverage, alert thresholds, and operational checks are appropriate and effective
- Ensure backup, recovery, and capacity processes are in place and functioning
- Act as a point of escalation for client-impacting technical issues
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations Support during incidents and investigations
- Contribute to improving monitoring, processes, and operational practices over time
What Were Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in technical operations, cloud operations, production support, or DevOps-adjacent roles
- Hands-on experience working with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
- Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Comfortable working with Linux-based systems and understanding system resources (disk, CPU, memory)
- Experience supporting or managing small technical teams while remaining hands-on with systems
- Able to communicate clearly with both technical teams and clients during issues
- Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities
Candidates whose experience is primarily IT policy, governance, or vendor management without hands-on cloud operations experience may not be the right fit for this role.
