About the job Software Architect / DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)
Senior Software Architect & DevOps Engineer | Kubernetes & Microservices
Sector: HealthTech / Medical Software
Location: Hybrid (Bremen base – approx. 4 days/month on-site)
Salary: €100,000
The Opportunity I am partnering with a leading German HealthTech group dedicated to bringing "Transparency to Healthcare." With a team of around 100 specialists, they develop critical analysis tools and semantic software that make the statutory health system more efficient.
They are looking for a hybrid Architect/DevOps expert who enjoys the "best of both worlds"—designing high-level distributed systems while staying hands-on with a self-hosted Kubernetes infrastructure. This is a role for someone who values stability and meaningful work over "move fast and break things" startup culture.
The Tech & Challenge
- Architecture: Leading the evolution of a microservices landscape using Scala, Java, and Python.
- Infrastructure: Full ownership of service orchestration within a self-hosted Kubernetes environment.
- Innovation: Integrating AI, LLMs, and Transformers into existing Big Data analysis tools.
- Communication: Acting as the technical bridge between the development team and customer-side IT administrators.
Your Profile
- Experience: At least 5 years in Software Architecture or Senior DevOps, specifically focused on distributed systems and containerisation.
- Toolkit: Deep expertise in Kubernetes, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Environment: Comfortable with self-hosted data centres (on-prem) rather than purely public cloud setups.
- Languages: Full professional fluency in German and English (C1) is essential for documentation and stakeholder management.
- Flexibility: You are based within a reasonable distance of Bremen or happy to travel for a 4-day "sprint" once a month (all expenses covered).
Why This Role?
- Stability & Impact: Work on regulated software that millions of people depend on for their healthcare data.
- True Work-Life Balance: A "family-first" culture with flexible hours and genuine part-time options.
- Physical Connection: While mostly remote, the monthly 4-day on-site stay in Bremen ensures you are a core part of the team culture, not just a face on a screen.
- Holistic Benefits: Includes EGYM Wellpass, JobRad, in-house massages, and proactive mental health support.
