The opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing German health-tech company building AI-powered software for mental-health professionals. Their platform takes administrative work off practitioners so they can spend more time with patients. The business is profitable, self-funded and already the market leader in its segment.

They are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to shape the backend architecture and build the data systems, AI workflows and real-time capabilities the product runs on. You join a small, senior engineering team reporting directly to the CTO, as the engineer who owns how the backend is built.

What you'll do

• Shape and evolve the backend architecture for reliability and scale
• Design and implement backend features and APIs
• Build dependable data systems on PostgreSQL, Prisma and SQL
• Develop reliable AI workflows and real-time capabilities
• Improve production reliability, monitoring and debugging
• Keep security and compliance built into every backend service
• Help the team ship well

What you bring

• Strong backend engineering: design, implementation, debugging
• Practical architectural judgement for cloud and distributed systems
• Depth with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL, Prisma)
• TypeScript and NestJS, or Python and FastAPI
• Security-aware production ownership, autonomy, product curiosity
• 3–5+ years with evidence of exceptional ability
• English C1 and German C1

Nice to have: LLM application engineering, audio processing, transcription or streaming, React/TypeScript, Electron or React Native, healthcare or GDPR-heavy environments.
