Job Description
M365Consult is seeking a highly experienced Part-Time Senior Server Administrator (1015 hours weekly) to act as mentor, trainer, and teacher. You will run daily, highly practical sessions in our own test environment, focusing on break and fix scenarios and real-world troubleshooting. No slide decks or formal preparation are required; topics are discussed and practiced live based on the skills needed by the team. The role centers on Windows Server 2019, networking, scripting, and hybrid environments, with your primary mission being to support and upskill our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server 2019 environments during hands-on training.
• Diagnose and resolve errors and performance issues using Event Viewer, PerfMon, IIS logs, and related tools.
• Handle certificate management and configure VPNs (OPNSense).
• Design and manage a DMZ in a lab context.
• Support and explain email-related topics such as Cisco Email Security Appliance (Cisco ESA) and Veritas Enterprise Vault (optional).
• Provide ongoing mentorship and practical training to enhance the teams technical capabilities.
• Collaborate during flexible hours to support different time zones and schedules.

Technical Requirements

Mandatory:

• 10+ years of practical IT experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Windows Server 2019.
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Basic understanding of hybrid environments with Microsoft 365 Cloud.
• Strong networking background.
• Coding experience in C++ or .NET Core (bonus).

Preferred Certifications:

• Cisco CCNA.
• Microsoft M365 Fundamentals or higher.

Desirable Experience

• Prior mentoring or teaching experience in technical environments.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends when needed.

Work Schedule

• Flexible hours compatible with a full-time onsite role.
• Availability for evening or night meetings on onsite days.
• Increased availability on offsite days and weekends.
