About the job Strategic Client Lead

We're seeking a Client Strategy Director to lead relationships with tech and VC-funded clients navigating critical growth stages. You'll manage approximately 10 active accounts plus 2-5 new business conversations, leading cross-functional teams across design, development, and marketing initiatives.

This is a hands-on role where every day is different. Hours typically run 9am-6/7pm depending on the day.

What You'll Do

  • Develop deep understanding of client business objectives, particularly for VC-funded Series A/B companies
  • Lead transformational projects: brand launches, strategic rebrands, new market entry, building new marketing channels
  • Manage cross-functional project teams and ensure work meets quality and budget standards
  • Track work against business metrics (brand sentiment, signups, audience evolutionnot just social engagement)
  • Support business development and manage staffing with creative leads

Must-Haves

Agency Experience (Required)

  • 5+ years in leadership at a creative/branding agency
  • Boutique agency background preferred
  • Experience scoping and managing projects and budgets

Tech/Startup Clients

  • Proven experience with VC-funded companies, particularly Series A/B stage
  • Understanding of how funding cycles impact brand/marketing investments
  • B2B clients and/or emerging tech experience
  • Can speak to how your work impacted business goals with real metrics

Leadership & Management

  • Project team management (people management nice to have)
  • Ability to juggle ~10 accounts simultaneously
  • Strategic problem-solver who thinks beyond creative execution to business impact

Nice to Have

  • In-house experience at a tech company
  • Freelance/fractional CMO background with VC-backed companies
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, spreadsheets
