About the job Head of Marketing

A venture-backed supplement startup is hiring its first marketing leader to build brand and growth from the ground up. As the founding Head of Marketing, you will own positioning, storytelling, and go-to-market execution while rolling up your sleeves to drive campaigns across D2C channels. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, shaping how the brand enters culture and connects authentically with the GLP-1 community.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging, and tone of voice
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy across paid, organic, and influencer channels
  • Launch and scale D2C acquisition (Meta, TikTok, search, email, affiliates)
  • Build and engage community (Facebook groups, Reddit forums, ambassador and affiliate programs)
  • Partner with creative resources to deliver compelling campaigns and content
  • Implement data-driven growth frameworks: set KPIs, run weekly experiments, and optimize results
  • Develop and scale UGC initiatives by identifying creators, motivating participation, and measuring impact
  • Collaborate with the CEO to evolve brand strategy based on customer insights
  • Set up early marketing processes and tools (CRM, project management, reporting)
  • Contribute to building company culture as a founding hire

What Were Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in brand and growth marketing, ideally within consumer health, wellness, CPG, or telehealth
  • Proven track record scaling D2C brands at the early stage (Seed Series A)
  • Hands-on experience building communities, paid social, influencer/creator programs, CRM, and community-led storytelling
  • Data-driven mindset: able to design KPI ladders, interpret performance metrics, and adjust strategy quickly
  • Strong organizational and process orientation; detail-driven, reliable, and execution-focused
  • Startup energy: thrives in zero-to-one environments, comfortable wearing many hats
  • Based in New York City (hybrid collaboration with CEO strongly preferred)

Nice to Haves

  • Understanding of the GLP-1 ecosystem (providers, programs, or support products)
  • Experience with retail or Amazon collaborations
  • Fluency with AI tools in marketing workflows

  • Contract-to-hire
    • October - November: contract (10-20 hours/week) 
    • December onwards: full-time placement
