Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will support the firm’s clients by managing legal research, drafting legal documents, participating in client consultations, and handling various transactional matters, depending on the practice area. This role requires strong research and drafting skills, exceptional attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Essential Functions

  • Gather evidence and initiate legal actions, to ascertain the facts of a case.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant legal issues.
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Present and summarize cases to judges and juries or assist more senior lawyers with same.
  • Participate in client meetings, and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with case strategy and management under the supervision of a senior attorney or partner.
  • Negotiate settlements under the supervision of, or with authority of a Senior Partner.
  • Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff such as legal assistants and paralegals.
  • Work with existing process automation to manage case load including normally scheduled follow ups known as Niblets.
  • Maintain organized case files and update case management systems.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and case law developments.

Travel

  • Travel may be required and expected.

Required Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law
  • Experience in a law firm environment
  • 0–3 years of relevant legal experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in [practice area: e.g., personal injury, environmental, pharmaceutical, litigation, etc.].
  • Clerkship experience or mass torts legal experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
