Job description

The Medical Records Reviewer is responsible to accurately digest & dissect client medical record, document, and communicate findings. The Reviewers main objective is to use combination of medical/legal knowledge expertise & settlement criteria to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of Medical Record Review process:
  • Identifies medical records for review
  • Database entry field definitions
  • Confirm accurate record labelling
  • Confirm record is linked to correct client, provider, and order #
  • Criteria for proof of use/proof of injury records by ccode
  • Corrective action as necessary
  • Demonstrates proficient medical knowledge and interpretation of medical record content
  • Serves as medical resource for the Medical Review staff, case management teams, and clients
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of ccode and settlement relevant medical criteria in order to maximize settlement values
  • Accurately review & discern relevant medical records & findings
  • Properly document & communicate relevant findings
  • Works with Director to develop guidelines and best practices that increase efficiency and productivity
  • Represent the firm in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • alternatives for process improvements
  • Maintain a good working relationship within the department and other departments
  • Maintain client PHI confidentiality at all times
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Document daily status updates as required
