Job Description:
Top international bank is seeking an experienced Senior IMS Database Administrator (IMS DBA) to provide expert-level support for its mission-critical mainframe environments.
The role is fully remote from South Africa, with the possibility of relocation based on business needs. The ideal candidate will bring more than 10 years of hands-on IMS DBA experience and deep technical expertise.
Technical Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as an IMS DBA in enterprise environments.
- Expert knowledge of IMS DB, IMS DC, and IMS utilities.
- Strong experience with BMC IMS tools and Control-M job scheduling.
- Familiarity with z/OS, JCL, RACF, and mainframe standards.
Professional Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely with high accuracy and responsiveness.
- Strong communication skills for working with international teams.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and handle high-pressure production issues.
- Experience in financial or regulated sectors is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
- Training or certification in IMS, mainframe operations, or BMC tools (advantageous).
Contract and Location Details:
- Contract location: South Africa (remote).
- Support hours aligned to Australian Eastern Time.
