About Toyota Motor Corporation

At Toyota, we are navigating a once-in-a-century period of profound transformation. We are no longer just an automobile manufacturer; we are evolving into a global mobility company. Guided by our mission of "Producing Happiness for All," we are pioneering a multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, investing heavily in software-defined vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell technology, electrification, and the development of Woven City. We believe in the Toyota Way—rooted in Kaizen (continuous improvement) and Genchi Genbutsu (going to the source)—to drive sustainable growth and societal value.

The Role

The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the visionary leader and strategic architect for the entire Toyota Group globally. Reporting directly to the Chairman and the Board of Directors, the CEO will steer the company through the complex, rapidly shifting landscape of the global mobility industry. You will be responsible for balancing the enduring legacy of the Toyota Production System (TPS) with aggressive innovation in artificial intelligence, software, and new energy ecosystems, ensuring Toyota remains the undisputed global leader in mobility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Strategy & Vision: Formulate and execute the long-term strategic direction to solidify Toyotas transition from an automaker to an integrated mobility and technology provider.
  • Innovation & Sustainability: Champion Toyotas global carbon neutrality goals by 2050, accelerating the multi-pathway strategy across BEVs, HEVs, PHEVs, and FCEVs, while scaling investments in software (Arene) and autonomous ecosystems.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee global manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D operations, ensuring the continuous evolution of the Toyota Production System to meet modern technological demands.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary global ambassador for Toyota, managing critical relationships with international governments, regulators, shareholders, joint venture partners, and the global public.
  • Financial Stewardship: Drive robust financial performance, optimize global capital allocation, and ensure sustainable profitability across all international regions and subsidiaries.
  • Culture & Leadership: Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture that empowers Toyotas 370,000+ global team members to embrace agile decision-making and continuous innovation.

Qualifications

  • Executive Experience: 20+ years of progressive leadership experience, with a proven track record as a CEO, President, or senior executive managing a complex, multinational organization at a massive scale.
