Overview

Manpower is seeking to recruit a Head of Legal - a prestigious role for one of our highly reputable clients.  This role will involve taking on a diverse range of client mandates involving both local and international businesses.

This is a senior role, which is ideal for someone with strong strategic thinking, deep legal expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The position also provides exposure to regulated sectors such as digital entertainment and blockchain‑related industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate the activities of the legal department to ensure seamless teamwork and efficient workflows.
  • Offer legal guidance to internal leadership and clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Oversee and review work carried out by legal team members to maintain consistent quality and compliance with firm standards.
  • Ensure adherence to the organisations quality benchmarks across all legal deliverables.
  • Allocate tasks within the team based on client requirements, deadlines, and project priorities.
  • Engage with regulators, external law firms, clients, and internal units whenever required.
  • Track project progress, deadlines, and budgets, ensuring transparent communication with partners and clients.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the firms legal service offerings and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Act as a primary contact point for clients, fostering long-term professional relationships built on trust.
  • Provide support to senior leadership on legal and client‑related matters as they arise.

Candidate Must-Haves

  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Fully qualified lawyer holding a Malta warrant to practice.
  • At least five years of experience within a law firm, corporate services provider, or similar professional environment.
  • Solid expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong command of both written and spoken Maltese and English.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Able to work independently, using sound judgement and initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
