Electrical Works Estimator

Overview
Manpower is seeking to recruit a Electrical Works Estimator to join our client's team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine the scope of electrical works.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, subcontracted services, and equipment.
• Analyse project risks, constraints, and technical challenges to ensure accurate pricing.
• Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and technical proposals.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and service departments to validate feasibility and labour hour estimates.
• Assist the sales team in preparing tenders, quotations, and bid submissions.
• Update cost databases, pricing templates, and documentation in line with company procedures.
• Conduct site visits when required to assess project conditions and gather necessary information.
• Support project managers during project handover with documentation and clarifications.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within marine, industrial, power generation, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and estimating or ERP software.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Licensing & Certifications:

• A valid B Licence (Electrical Wireman's Licence B) will be considered an asset.
• Additional certifications in electrical or marine disciplines will be considered an asset.
