About This Job
Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Power Plant Mechanical Technician on behalf of our client. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient operation of energy generation facilities. The position requires a detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to the maintenance and optimization of power plant operations. The successful candidate may be required to work on a shift basis.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, performing necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and components.

Monitor equipment performance and report any abnormalities to senior technicians or the engineering team.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve operational efficiency and enforce safety protocols.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.

Participate in training programs to remain updated on new technologies and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
-
Possess a Higher Technician Diploma (HTD) (MQF Level 5, minimum 60 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, awarded by City & Guilds or another recognised institution;
AND
Have 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Technician in industries such as Power Plants, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Marine, or heavy-duty mechanical plant machinery.
OR

Possess an Advanced Diploma in Operations & Maintenance (MQF Level 4, minimum 120 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent), from the Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology or a recognised institution;
AND
Have 3 years' experience in the relevant industries listed above.
OR

Successfully completed an apprenticeship/traineeship of at least one (1) year with IESC.
OR
-
Possess an Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering (MQF Level 4, minimum 120 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent) from MCAST or a recognised educational institution;
AND
Have 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Technician in related industries.
OR
-
Possess a Journeymans Certificate (MQF Level 3, minimum 60 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution;
AND
Have 4 years' experience working in one or more of the industries mentioned above.
