About the job Senior Finance Executive - Hospitality
On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a Senior Accounts Executive, who will manage day-to-day finance operations within a hospitality environment, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting. The role supports the Finance Manager, supervises junior team members, and collaborates closely with operational departments such as Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, and Procurement.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.

Maintain the general ledger, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and post journals including bank and intercompany reconciliations.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.

Ensure accurate recording of revenue from PMS, POS, and other operational systems.

Perform daily revenue reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Support year-end closing activities and coordination with auditors.

Monitor cost of sales, stock movements, and inventory controls for F&B outlets.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory submissions (VAT, ECO tax, etc.).

Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.

Analyse departmental performance, variances, and profitability, providing recommendations for efficiency improvements.

Maintain strong internal controls over cash handling, purchasing, and credit processes.

Collaborate with operational teams to support financial decision-making.

Participate in cost control activities, menu costing, and pricing exercises.

Prepare daily reports, investigate irregularities, and ensure timely corrective actions.

Ensure proper documentation, filing, and orderly record-keeping.

Support system updates or changes in PMS, POS, and other finance-related platforms.

Deliver work within tight deadlines and support additional tasks as required.

Talent Profile
Experience & Knowledge

Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within hospitality.

Strong understanding of internal controls and financial procedures.

Familiarity with hotel accounting systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, Sun Systems) is an asset.
