Fixed & Transport Networks Engineer

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking to recruit a Fixed & Transport Networks Engineer, who will be responsible for designing and documenting backbone, distribution, and access fibre networks, with a focus on FTTx and international transport networks, including submarine infrastructure. The role also involves maintaining network documentation and developing tools to support deployment and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and operate national and international transport networks
• Maintain GIS documentation of fibre and transport elements
• Troubleshoot fibre and transport network issues
• Support operations teams during implementation and maintenance
• Develop tools to aid network deployment and operations
• Monitor network health through logs, alarms, and statistics
• Liaise with vendors and service providers
• Assist with budgeting for fixed networks
• Research emerging technologies
• Participate in on-call roster and occasional out-of-hours duties

Requirements:

• MQF Level 6 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or IT
• Strong understanding of networking and engineering concepts
• Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Willingness to perform site visits and field operations
• Eagerness to learn new skills
• Valid EU driving license
