About the job IT Operations Manager

On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to oversee the reliable, secure and efficient delivery of IT end‑user services, infrastructure and core systems.

This role reports to senior management within the Digital & Technology function and focuses on ensuring day‑to‑day IT operations run smoothly, service quality remains high, and ongoing improvements are consistently implemented in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT service desk and IT Operations team, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests
  • Provide hands-on technical support when required
  • Manage user lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding and access permissions
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation through technology enhancements and tool updates
  • Ensure the availability, performance and security of IT infrastructure, networks and end-user environments
  • Oversee infrastructure operations such as monitoring, backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Manage third‑party IT vendors, including SLAs and service performance
  • Support system upgrades and digital initiatives while safeguarding operational continuity

Requirements

  • MQF Level 6 qualification in IT or a related field
  • Proven experience in IT operations and infrastructure management, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong service-oriented mindset with a proactive, solutions‑driven approach
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer‑focused approach
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
